East Tennessee Heart Consultants was contemplating developing an affiliation with a local health care system in the form of a Foundation Model. Paragon Health was able to assist ETHC in negotiating current “market rates” which was critical to the physicians in making the determination to move forward with the affiliation model. Paragon was able to maintain excellent relationships with the senior executive team at the health system while at the same time acting as a strong advocate for the group. Paragon was able to push the hospital system harder than ETHC would have been able to do and maintain the working relationship that is critical to future success. Paragon has extensive knowledge of Fair Market Value methodologies and worked in tandem with the independent valuators to achieve a higher RVU compensation rate than ETHC would have accomplished alone. Due to the knowledge of cardiology and various models of affiliation, Paragon stepped ETHC and the health system through the process that ultimately has culminated in an agreement that both parties believe will be very successful.
